A very weak defence by Israel has turned the matter into a question of, “when is genocide acceptable?” The ICC has been placed in a very difficult position where it will now be seen as either having buckled under political pressure and sets a precedent supporting the murder of innocent civilians or strongly condemns the atrocities. The world knows the attack on Israel was wrong and also knows the response has been wrong. Those two wrongs do not make a right.
