There are many ‘zionists’ that hired Gazans and sympathized with them. Zionists are traditionally left-wing who believe in communism and are vociferous about wanting more rights for their palestinian neighbors.
Ironically, the kids murdered, raped, and kidnapped from the Nova Music Festival, were bound to be liberal, hippie-like, who would have befriended palestinians in a heartbeat. You know, the typical bright-eyed, naive, tolerant Western zoomer. As for those murdered, mass raped, burned alive, and kidnapped from the nearby kibbutzim, well, those were idealists for the most part. That’s why it was easy to murder them, they were not armed, and had their doors unlocked.
The ‘zionists’ you’re referring to are the hardline settlers of the West Bank who are violent, inciteful, and ARMED. Anyone trying to pull a stunt like the one on Oct 7th on those settlers is not gonna get much farther than a few feet past the gate, I can tell you that. These folks are almost universally disliked by most but the most extreme right Israelis. I personally believe that this group is the main problem. Everyone else in Israel wants to live in peace and are against building new settlements and don’t condone the actions of these settlers on the Palestinians. Even the IDF hates to go on assignment on the West Bank, but they have no choice.
Israel is a diverse country in the full meaning of diverse. There are Israelis of multiple races, colors, and ethnicities. Some are religious while others are unapologetically atheist. Among religious Israelis, you’ll find a multitude of sects and branches of Judaism. In the political spectrum, you have leftists, right wingers, middle-of-the road, conservative, liberal, libertarian, etc.
