Re: Israel’s Netanyahu ‘unfit’ to run Gaza war: Opposition leader

“You’ll find some of the harshest criticism of Islam from those who grew up under its restrictions”

Is there not a burka wearing Jewish sect, that secular Jews humorously refer to as their version of “Taliban” ?

There was an obscure Jewish sect in the Western hemisphere that made the news when its adherents spilled out of the building as if escaping prison. What was the name of that sect & its leader?

Can you say for sure that some Ultra-Orthodox Jews don’t feel trapped in their strict upbringing ?

…I recall years ago playing tennis outside in the park on a sunny day, & this solitary Orthodox Jewish guy in his teens (in full black attire) came over & was (longingly) watching me through the chainlink fence, outside on the grass. I felt sorry for him, gave a friendly nod & said “Hi”. He never said anything, but I remember thinking to myself that he’d probably had a restrictive life, & that I confounded his perceptions of non-Jews. Normally, I wouldn’t be enthused about male interest, but I was pleased for his b/c I’ve noticed that Orthodox Jews avoid eye contact, as if we’re Medusa’s or something!

This hallmark trait can feed into the perception/misconception that Gentiles are seen as contemptuous beings, unworthy of recognition. I’m just trying to iron out any misunderstandings, of which are plenty due to lack of communication, & distrust.
