(1) The charges against UNRWA staff are proven and admitted by the organization. The extent of the participation of staffers in the October 7 atrocity is unknown.
(2) The war is entering its fifth month, not fourth.
(3) The worst of UNWRA is not its participation in October 7 but its continuing, daily role in fomenting hatred toward Israel and Jews primarily through its schools (and media? Not sure about that) but also through its deliveries of aid (accompanied by propaganda). It may well also be party to smuggling of weapons and supplies to Hamas.
Nevertheless there is unnecessary starvation and deprivation in Gaza beyond what must necessarily accompany the Israeli invasion. I would continue contributions to UNRWA at a reduced level while insisting on complete, immediate top-to-bottom reform or replacement of the organization, supervised by the US, Britain, Canada, Australia, and others who may wish to participate.
