The “legal government” of the Palestine Mandate were the British administrators.
The Arabs, who were the majority culture on those lands were entitled to form their own government representing that majority culture.
Since they were the majority culture, they did not agree to being swamped by these foreigners, who possessed access to the West and would soon dominate the “locals”.
Surely, the local Arabs had more rights to the control of those lands than the Ashkenazis.
Those on the land surely had more authority to how the dissolution of the Ottoman’s land would be administered.
Of course, those who made claims to land in the Palestine Mandate could not allow that to happen – so they began their Holocaust sob story and their self-serving Hebrew Scripture stories.
You happen to notice how Americans are reacting to the invasion of our Southern border.
The same sentiments applied for the put-upon Palestinians in 1948.
To think otherwise is hypocritical, deceitful and “anti-semitic” [sic].
