In 1939, Portugal had a Jewish population of 1,200, Spain, 4,000.
Compare that to Poland over 3 million, Russia 2.6 million, Ukraine
1.5 million, Romania 900,000. The reason why there was the biggest
concentration of Jews in Eastern Europe was because the Khazars
remained where they were in Eastern Europe after they converted to
Judaism.
