When Greece’s government debt got out of control, a portion of Greeks blamed capitalism, Americans, Jews, Germans, yada yada. This portion of Greeks started voting for formerly fringe parties like far left Syriza and far right Golden Dawn.
Reality check. Greeks are to blame for the mistakes of Greece. No one else. We have to be able to blame ourselves for our own national mistakes. Just blaming others for all our problems keeps the root problems from being fixed.
I know you don’t want to criticize your own country, especially in this stressful moment, but you have too if you want to fix the issues that plague it. Religious national extremists like Ben Gvir (who is not alone) are a problem for Israel. Islam nor antisemitism are to blame for any Jewish religious and national extremism currently going on among as segment of Jews. You have to face this just like decent people in other countries face their own troublemakers.
