While in many places across the globe, women turned to prostitution due to poverty and violence. Yet in Palestine it was mainly due to sexxual violence, and the forced marriage of female children. It has been difficult for the Palestinian government and society to address these problems. The women and children of Gaza were probably not surprised by the atrocities committed on the first day of the war, and probably in their own way, felt sorrow for the victims.
