Incidentally albeit apparently not the target you were still wrong to try to defend an alleged attack against a consulate. Rules based conflict is exactly why Israel has the high ground against Hamas. If it ignores that and takes an anything goes approach then it would lose moral high ground. If someone takes our side only does good and the other only does bad they will just end up with a distorted view of both the facts and the ethics of a situation.
