Turks were ethnically cleansed by Greeks and Balkans between 1912 and 1915, not by a crypto group infiltrating the top, but by their very own countrymen. That is a very poignant discrepancy. As for WWI, the Armenians fought the Turks fair and square. They had generals and an army.
