Liar. Most of them are descendents of people that self-identified as Bulgarian “Macedonians” in the early 20th century. (to lessor degree Serbs and others). Your own “Macedonian” national heros like Delchev, Misirkov, Gruev, et al… are ALL on record calling themselves Bulgarians during that era. It’s not the fault of Greeks or Bulgarians that shameless liars like you edit out regional context of what “Macedonian” meant back then. There were GreeK Macedonian, Bulgarians Macedonian, Serbian Macedonian, and so on. Not a single “ethnic’ Macedonian.
The “ethnic” Macedonian identity started off with Bulgarian propagandists trying to take ownership of the name “Macedonian” by creating a Macedonian identity. Even as late as 1944 the majority of people in SKopje consider “Macedonian” to be a synonym for Bulgarian. This is exactly while IMRO leader Ivan Mihalov support the Nazis during WW2. It’s because Bulgaria was part of Axis forces. Your “Macedonian” ancestors shamelessly hide they well Axis forces as liberators.
Post WW2, Yugoslavian communists, persecuted Bulgarians in Skopje in retaliation for the occupation. The forcibly wiped out their identity and invented a purely “ethnic” Macedonian identity.
