Re: Turkiye may deploy Russian S-400 air defences against PKK

The Turkish government has funny definitions. They change meaning depending whether it suits them.

1. Terrorism. PKK have engaged in terrorism so that’s fair. Alas the Turkish government tries to extend the definition to include every Kurd seeking a state of being a “PKK terrorist”.

2.Self-determination. Lecture Israel on Palestinians lacking a homeland…then oppress tens of millions of Kurds that want a homeland.

3. Genocide. Accuse Israel of committing “genocide” with less than 2 percent of Palestinians killed in conflict. Meanwhile Turkish state continues to claim that the over 75 percent of Armenians killed in Turkey, mostly in death marches, was not genocide.

4. International maritime law. Accuse Greeks of violating international maritime law in the Aegean… then ignore it is actually Turkey violating UNCLOS. It claims because it has not signed UNCLOS, it is not obligated to follow it… except then it then claims Turkey’s own waters are protected by UNCLOS.

5. “Human rights”. Accuse Greeks of violating the rights of migrants with pushbacks… as Turkey quietly uses deadly force along its own borders to keep migrants from getting into Turkey.
