Re: UN: Iran ‘weeks not months’ away from enough uranium to make bomb

All current nuclear armed nations are the primary reason why the non-proliferation treaty is slowly unraveling. Long “forgotten” is NPT also had provisions for nations already with nukes to eventually get rid of them too. The nations with nukes today act like they special rights to them for their defense whereas other countries don’t. Maybe a few more dozen nations with nukes will wake up those nations it’s either no one with nukes or eventual nuclear war.

For NPT to be effective over long term it must involve nuclear disarmament for everyone.. And once that is actually accomplished in more than just lip service there should be treaties defining international procedures for taking down any nation that subsequently tries to violate NPT. Mandatory global economic boycott of the nation. Then a global military alliance to invade the country and dispose of it’s government. And If it’s people keep trying to get nukes, break the country apart and colonize it to end the threat permanently. Only stiff penalties will ensure compliance.
