They had an opportunity to build a nation, they chose war instead. There was a UN Partition Resolution, a Jewish State and Arab State living side by side in peace. Unfortunately five Arab Countries chose war to destroy the Jewish State, and they lost. Had they won, the banner of Islam would fly over 100% of the Middle East land mass.
