I looked at the Lecture of about 1 hour and 5 minutes and was not very impressed. Dry rehashing of statistical analysis of a period of time too large to analyze within that timeframe. I presume we are talking about the same lecture entitled ” Why the West rules… for now.”
His findings again are well known and that mass migration causes great upheaval. He does not point out that most were in order to plunder and warlike and that leads to a second point he makes about epidemics and disease. He does not point to Europe in causing epidemics in North and South America as well as Africa. I agree with the last Three points . State failure causes famine and famine causes climate change.
You cannot take his observations at face value because changes occurred for various reasons at various times and society evolved differently in different places.
I concur that the West is in freefall territory because of greed and trying to create a world that cannot sustain these changes or concepts that are alien to individuality.
The Jewish people must create a society that can defend itself not by numbers but through ingenuity and cohesion. Israel must never be reliant on any one individual current power. We have an opportunity to have an alliance with both the USA, India and Russia and even China.
I know Russia has a checkered past with Jews and Pogroms but India and China have had good relations for over a thousand years without any anti-Semitism
Democracy in a time of war is not a good system to adhere to. Even Trudeau with his War Measures Act understood that as did the Americans with their Japanese citizens during WW2.
