These are all good questions. In Fact Excellent ones. I am still amazed that Hamas is prepared to hold 24 live Hostages and 35 bodies knowing full will that another 50,000-100,000 may get killed and injured to retrieve them.
Now that Israel has gone into phase 2 , what is the value of the hostages? Why would Hamas want many Gazans killed just to hold on to them? The war for Hamas is over for all intent and purposes, they cannot defeat the IDF/IAF.
Not sure about the protesters, other than they are paid provocateurs or welfare recipients. These other countries you mentioned are either in civil wars or starvation caused by nature both not supported in any meaningful way by the UN organizations.
Sudan alone has 30 million in advanced modes of starvation.
