Ah yes, the 1948 massacres. Deir Yassin, etc. It was wrong and should not have happened. Will you admit the same about October 7? Say this: “Hamas should not have murdered, raped, and burned 1200 Israelis on October 7th. It was wrong and shouldn’t have happened.” Can you say that? I’m not holding my breath.
Note that your source is Haaretz. I assume you know that’s an Israeli newspaper. And that most of the historians who conducted that research are Jewish Israelis. To me, this shows that many Israelis are willing to honestly look at their own sins and confront their pasts, to try to learn from their mistakes and not repeat them. Israel is a democratic country with free speech, you may not be familiar with that term — it means that people are allowed criticize the government without being thrown off rooftops or killed and dragged thru the streets behind a motorcycle, which I’m sure you’re aware happens in Gaza.
Find me one written article from any Arab country that honestly admits to the 800,000 Jews that were ethnically cleansed from Arab countries in 1948 — from Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Yemen, Libya, etc. Only the Jews aren’t afraid to examine their own mistakes.
