The Ashkenazi who came from Europe used to live in the ghettos of Eastern Europe and they did not carry any weapons when they lived in Europe because they would not dare. They also would not dare to be seen walking around carrying weapons when they used to be under Ottoman rule . But after Palestine was seized by the British, then everything changed! The Jews knew that Palestine was now theirs and they understood that they would have to be heavily armed. The Western governments provided them with the most advanced weapons and that is the only reason why these Europeans are still in Palestine.
