I think we should be urging a One State Solution like South Africa did when it eliiminated apartheid by holding a Truth and Reconciliation Commission where anyone culpable could come before the Commission, confess their crimes, say they’re sorry and go free to live in peace, black and white together! It was a brilliant process designed by Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu and it could work for Israelis and Palestinians too. See the General’s Son by Israeli Miko Peled who is working with Israeli Arabs to promote this solution. His father was an Israeli general in the 1968 war who then worked with Rabin to negotiate with Arafat and the PLO for a two state solution. It’s too late for that now. The descendants of the two sons of Abraham have to tell the truth, confess their sorrow and remorse for all crimes and killing they perpetrated and reconcile and live together in one state! South Africa did it! They had an equally sorry history of slaughter and mayhem and were able to use this brilliant process to unify and end the evil reign of apartheid. Alice Slater
