Exactly right. There are plenty of Islamic extremists but as with other groups not everyone is an extremist. Lots of decent Muslim families too (moderately religious rather than unhinged fundamentalists that take every word of the Quran literally).
My mother taught me at a young age there are good and bad every group. Never judge a person purely because of their background. And she was right. Although we sometimes speak in terms of groups when discussing nationalist politics, those that care about actual justice know proper moral judgment is based on an individual’s actions not simply belonging to some group. One doesn’t arrest the children of a thief. They carry no moral culpability for the sins of the father.
