Maybe some should have asked, what fears, interests and/or risks an independent Palestinian state, would maybe become more possible to occur, if the independence and 2 State Solution would be realized, to question, the strong opposition and denying of it, by countries like the US could be.
If it would be Peace and Security for Israel, it didn’t would above and beyond all critical thoughts, which may occured during the devastating warfare which was unfolding, in Gaza.
For the whole World to see and despite all criticism, which is weaken the standing of the US, even almost as devastating as the warfare unfolding, it couldn’t be only Security and Peace for the Sate of Israel, which would be much easier to archive with other measures. Influence and control or leverage of the politics in the region is much more of what the US wouldn’t want to have less influence in the future. The possibility of lost influence in the middle east is much more the driving force to support Israeli warfare against what they themself round up and often just call “The arabs” as the people of the countries around Israel.
Even if it costs a lot of Global Standing and trust in the World others put in US Politics and partnerships.
It is much more of Geopolitical interests than of Peace and Security as sad as this fact could be, but this is the fear of independence which could make the possibility of less leverage and control could bring with it, if Israel or the US could be sidelined in the region, this is exactly why Mr. Netanyahu and his Government could wage this warfare.
I don’t see any hopeful sign that the US Government would come to it’s mind, that it is a devastating damage to it’s Reputation and Global Standing, not being much more critical and balanced, to secure Peace and Partnership in the Region.
