Blinken currently heads the pointy end of the US Department of State, Helen4, and doubtless has a good appreciation of the 1946 to 1970 period of US history when the US Presidential Office in tandem with the US Congress set about casting their nation as a global pariah.
That nonetheless, Blinken chooses to serve in his position is interesting. I am cognisant of the fact he is at times exceedingly stressed and unhappy at his effectively powerless plight.
