Let me tell you why I find the word ‘Israeli’ very offensive. That land used to be known as Palestine and it had its own indigenous population and therefore it did not need a bunch of white people coming from Europe claiming to return – which is so ridiculous! They created the word ‘Israel+i’ by borrowing the Arabic suffix of the little -I- and they were imitating Arabic nationality names like Yemeni, Iraqi, Saudi, Kuwaiti, Bahraini, Omani, Qatari, Emirati. They already had their own nationality names of Israelian and Israelitish, Israelite, Hebrew, but they wanted a nationality name that sounds like the rest of the Middle Eastern nationality names. There are no other people in the world who go around looking for a nationality name by copying from others. They seem to have no shame as they appropriate what does not belong to them.
