Re: Contrasting reality: Treatment of Israeli and Palestinian prisoners

The United Nations 1947 Partition Resolution for Palestine was a proposal to divide Mandatory British territory into two independent nations because of these two stateless people, one Jewish and one Arab, after the end of the British Mandate. The plan was adopted by the UN General Assembly on November 29, 1947 as Resolution 181 (II). The Jews chose to build a viable nation in 1948 on the land allotted and Arab nations chose war to gain everything and they lost. They tried several more times and lost each time. In 1949 Israel was accepted in the United Nations.

Had Arabs chosen to accept the UN Partition Resolution and live side by side in peace, instead of targeting Israel for 20 years until the 1967 war, Palestinian Arabs would today be celebrating 77 years of Independent Statehood with pre-1967 borders. It is that simple!
