Practically speaking, very few Western countries with their semi-democracies would put much faith in the Palestinians ability to form a workable state. The degree of mafia like corruption within their political structures would probably rule out any form of semi-democracy. The tendency for the Palestinians seem to be strong-man regimes, with the ability to sacrifice the lives of Palestinians for foreign cash as well. Unfortunately, they do not seem anywhere near having the maturity level to do so.
