I’m sure you believe that. Many Israelis are decent people. But you’ve been lied to, time and time again, just as we in the UK and USA have. In fact, right now, because of the www people have been looking on media sites and learning for themselves (at last!) what is truth and what is propaganda.
Take, for example Israel’s charge of Palestinian ‘human shields’.If you look up a Supreme Court ruling for 2005 you’ll see that the IDF was forbidden to use them – after 1200 cases had been logged in the previous few years. So the number has gone down and/or is concealed under different descriptions; but it’s still an Israeli practice, not a Palestinian one.
I could name so many similar charges – ‘burning babies’? Israel (settler violence) heads this up too. And so on, and on, and on …
I’ve been following the Israeli/Palestine conflict for over 50 years and for the first time find myself in a majority. It feels very weird.
