Re: ‘Do you condemn Hamas?’ – Middle East Monitor

Israel doesn’t get to have their cake and eat it too…If they want to deny the existence of a Palestinian state and refer to Palestinians as “terrorists’ then that is their prerogative…but the CONSEQUENCE of Israel’s choice to deny Palestinian statehood is that ONLY states are signatories to the laws collectively referred to as the “Law of War”…so that makes Hamas completely free to disregard the “Laws of War” anytime they wish. For Hamas there is no obligation to obey the Hague or Geneva conventions….because Israel has declared Hamas a non-state actor…immune from “war crimes” regardless of ANYTHING they do. In light of the statements detailing favorable treatment of released prisoners of war that Hamas freedom fighters captured on October 7th, it doesn’t appear that Hamas needs any moral guidance from the “Laws of War” to know how to treat non-combatants humanely. Someday, if they survive that long, Israel also might aspire to such a level of humanity.
