The Palestinians have had to pay such a heavy price because two European peoples, the Christians and the Jews of Europe, were in conflict for many centuries and the way they solved that problem was by invading Palestine and giving it to the Jews! Would those who believe in Christ think that it was just? But there are millions of Christians around the world who do believe that the European Jews are the descendants of the ancient Hebrews which is such a ridiculous notion for smart people to entertain because the European Jews are European just like the Germans and today confirmed by DNA that they are in fact 100% European. But they will never admit that they are European because in doing so, they would have no way to claim Palestine.
