I loved the book when I read it in the 1970’s … the original film wasn’t great but the I enjoyed the 3 part miniseries
The current version by Villeneuve is a Star Wars type of movie … it’s ok but kinda hollow
Anyways, the author Frank Herbert was definitely riffing on arab / Jewish mythology / characters … Dune is a desert World inhabited by ONLY indigenous Fremen (arabs)
It’s a long film but not for everyone … eh?
