Selected tunnels are still open between the Rafah Governorate and the Sinai. This has been and still is a ‘port’ of cargo and/or persons for the right price. Now, that service has become very risky and even more expensive than before the war. The known Sinai shafts are being watched, but Hamas has many shafts that have never been opened in the last meter or so of ground. These are where the Western surveillance, both on the ground and from the skies, are waiting to be discovered. Money buys almost anything in Egypt as with all countries, and the prices fluctuate. Who knows how many hostages have already been trafficked through the Sinai. The Gaza VIPs can leave pretty they want, if they have not already done so. Egypt destroyed and/flooded only a part of the tunnels years ago.
