Incidentally I don’t point out Turkey’s hypocrisy over the definition over the term genocide to harm relations between Greece and Turkey as you probably think. My intent is not demagoguery like racist Golden Dawn.
I say it because Turkey needs to adjust its own historical narrative to account for the atrocities the Ottomans committed in the name of empire. It has to recognize it was in the wrong. Just like the Germans did, like the British did. like the Japanese’s did. Which is what led to their nations having much better relations with the world than their predecessors.
If Turkey can fix their historical narrative there is no reason why Greeks and Turks can’t become friends. It’s imperialist Ottoman “victim” narrative that stands in the way.
