Democratically elected Hamas back in the 2006 elections was the start of an experimental phase for Palestine. The losing parties and the international fixers, ensured that Hamas did not carry out its mandate. So it thought it out and took control of a sliver of the pie, being Gaza. Since then, the holy-war ideology of Hamas has not changed, and the war triggering reality continues to date. Hamas has become astute at getting its financing from countries such as Iran, Turkey, etc. and of course the United Nations free-flowing money.
