Man made headlands into the sea, upon which paths, streets, structures and wharfs are built, will probably be an important aspect of the Gazan reconstruction. The great tonnage and sizes of rubble, serves well as the foundations of headlands. One important headland will need to reach at least three kilometres into the sea. At its end, a gigantic piling of rubble will form a stall steep mountain of rubble. So high that even the tallest lighthouses, would seems like miniatures in comparison. There will be many winding spiralling paths up the mountain. Some difficult to climb. Some easy to trek. But all would require sacrifice of time and energy to the pilgrims that slowly ascend to the peak. Upon the peak, a sense of euphoria manifests. The ugliness of the reality far below is left behind. The mind is able to envision ways of living that do not entail killing one’s neighbours. Unfortunately, as the pilgrims descend from Jabal al-Anqad, many return to their ways of war.
