Wars over the millenniums do not always end up as planned. It seemed like a sure bet that the various countries surrounding Palestine/Israel could swoop in and take what they wanted. Instead, it did not work out that way. The invaders ended up losing bordering territories themselves, instead of gaining them. Jordan lost the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Egypt the Gaza lands. Syria the elevated Golan. Now the Party of God armies, risk losing both Asher and Naftali. The invading packs of jackals have never fared well against the badgers and wolverines.
