Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, were all occupied by the Ottomans for 500 years between 1517 to 1917 and then after the Ottomans were defeated, Palestine, Iraq and Jordan were occupied by the British and Syria and Lebanon by the French.
