I have one last point. It’s actually meant in goodwill even though you talked like a patronizing jerk to me. You are obviously intelligent so I want to give this one last chance at pressing reset.. If you want to be cynical about it and troll some more that’s up to you.
When I was in my teens I was enamoured with Buddhist philosophy. Then one day my older brother made an off-the-cuff remark how despite all his talk of detaching yourself of concern for wordily things, the Dali Lama himself argues for Tibetan nationalism! And my brother was right.
This helped me look at Buddhist philosophy more critically. And voila the flaws start appearing. Buddhist philosophy is not all bad but one bad idea they hold that has really struck with me as a life lesson is their idea of “enlightenment”. There is no such thing. We start life tabula rasa, we learn some sh-t as we age. And .we eventually die for pastures unknown.
Many as they age think they are enlightened. That’s bullsh-t. We are just kids that got a little wiser but still learning. We are still capable of errors in our reasoning and .still capable of moments of immaturity, The lesson I learned is no matter how old I get is never assume I can’t learn something new that changes aspects of my worldview.. I am not enlightened and never will be..
You are 79. Ask yourself can you learn new tricks? Or are you going to go to your grave as one of the alleged enlightened ones?.
