Re: Gallant responds to ICJ: ‘Israel does not need lecture on morality’

When Greece was formed out of the very same Ottoman empire as Israel.. we killed every Turk. that stood in our way to a Greek state. We had no choice as a Greek state would not exist if we had not (nor would any of the other states that the Turks occupied). So I totally get why so many Jews want to get rid of what you see as occupiers.

The Turks had a homeland to go to though. And even though we still have problems with Turks I support them having a homeland. Everyone should have a place where they are treated as equals not the other. it also gives those that don’t want to assimilate as minorities or constructively participate in someone else’s homeland a way out .Go back to their own homeland if they don’t like someone elses instead of whining how terrible it is.

Shipping the Palis off to some other state where they will be treated as second class citizens isn’t a fair compromise They need a homeland of their own. I realize a Palestinian state will will still result in some headaches for Israel but some Jews need to stop acting like Palis are an existential threat to them. Terrorist threat yes (which could be virtually entirely eliminated with a population exchange and two-state solution) As the rubble in Gaza shows they stand no chance against Israel. Jews are not in the same position as they were during WW2. They have a very strong military and lots of support. Iran and plausibly Turkey are potentially existential threats to Israel. Not Palestinians.
