I have been reading philosophy for decades. I would bet it’s unlikely we are even in the same league on knowledge on this topic.

So you don’t believe in morals. I actually agree with you that a fair chunk of the planet thinks this way. I do not. I sincerely believe in morals. Obviously not the way religions define them but rather in an evolutionary sense. For advanced civilizations to exist it implicitly requires moral codes. Without them there would be a breakdown of civilization. (as animals behave and our evolutionary ancestors did)
The problem as I see it is proper behaviour is not always self-evident. We make mistakes in judgement because the universe is complex. Morals to me do not require one to abdicate their self-interest though but there are different kinds of self-interest. The murderer is not the same as the one who defends himself. The thief is not the same as the one works to improve their lot in life. I see sophistry as dangerous to civilization’s very survival because like gravity one cannot escape morality. it’s built right into the universe.
