Greece was defeated by Rome but eventually Rome became Greece while Latin Rome fell to the barbarians.. A thousand years later was eventually defeated by the Ottomans but unlike the native Americans we decolonized. We fought the communists. We fought the Nazis. Although it is a shadow of its former self at its pinnacle and mostly still on vacation I wouldn’t bet against Greece. My little country has a habit of greatness from time to time.
