Not to mention their glorious Armageddon. If you get a chance search youtube for Pastor John Hagee for a prime example of the unhinged narrative far right christian nationalists are peddling. Pay attention to the size of conjugation. It’s not just some fringe outliers. I’d estimate christian fundies that peddle this stuff make up somewhere between 15-20 percent of conservatives.
Sometimes I’m not sure whom I should be more worried about. Muslim fundamentalists that want nuclear weapons or Christian ones already armed with them. Where you go wrong as a secular is criticizing this behavior among Christians and Muslims then trying to downplay their also exists the same behavior among a portion of Jews (also armed with WMDs).
Albeit I’m an atheist myself. One problem I’ve found with a significant number of atheists is they allow nationalism to skew their objectivity when it comes to criticizing their own extremists elements. Human ills exist in all groups, including our own, not just everyone elses.
