“The IDF is more of a paramilitary police force, not having faced a real army in battle for 50 years; killing civilians is what it does”—- That is because it is civilians that make up these terrorist organizations, loan wolves attacking people with knives, suicide bombers, running over people with trucks, sniping at cars, engineering rockets and bombs, building a fortune in tunnels to hide terrorists and stockpile weapons. It is not exactly a traditional war.
In a traditional war, the war is not over until the last combatant is either dead or lays down his arms, followed by terms of surrender.
