My name is Aaron Bushnell. I’m an active-duty member of the United States Air
Force. And I will no longer be complicit in genocide. I’m about to engage in an
extreme act of protest, but compared to what people have been experiencing in
Palestine at the hands of their colonizers, it’s not extreme at all. This is what our
ruling class has decided will be normal.
If a time comes when Palestinians regain control of their land, and if the people
native to the land would be open to the possibility, I would love for my ashes to
be scattered in a free Palestine.
Dearest Aaron: Palestinians and the Arabs in general would be honored that you
chose Palestine to be your final resting place. The Arabs would of course erect a
monument around your last resting place. Dearest Aaron: I am an Arab and you
have left a huge gushing wound in my heart!!! Dearest Aaron: when I look at the
video when you set yourself on fire and when you began to say ‘free Palestine’,
it is just so hard to imagine that it was real! It would have been easy to believe that
it was somebody who was doing a stage performance and the flames were just
fake flames. But those were not fake flames and that was not a stage
performance but a compassionate person who can no longer take the pain to see
others in so much pain!!!
