I’m too old to cope with the Mediterranean heat in the summer months. My favourite time for travelling there is May/June when the temperature is bearable and the days are long (and the children are in school/university)
Summer can be pleasant in the UK so the best time to go away is in the winter months, and the tropics can be pleasant if you avoid the rainy season..
