What this undersecretary was doing was consistent with the actions of the German govt which had been targeting and persecuting Palestinian supporters. Her only ‘crime’ per se is that her actions became public and what she was doing while approved isn’t actually legal.
Not that the German govt cares about legality! I mean they openly support genocide! No, the problem was that there is a threshold for how much they can undermine their own laws, in their own country, without suffering blowback; like academics leaving. So yeah, she was expendable.
