Re: Germany says Israel abiding by international law as Gaza death toll surpasses 31,000

Iraq became an independent State in 1932 and this set off an in-house war and the jockeying for power between indigenous Kurds, Assyrians, Persians, Azides, tribal conflicts with Arab Nationalists, which again sparked Sunni/Shiite age old conflicts. It is 94 years later and what has changed??

On 1 January 1956, tribal Sudan was duly declared an independent state. After Sudan became independent, the Gaafar Nimeiry regime began Islamist rule.

Syria became independent on 17 April 1946. Syrian politics from independence through the late 1960s were marked by tremendous jockeying for power. What happened to the indigenous Assyrians? Why the Sunni/Shiite age old conflicts?

It was in Jordan where the prophet Moses journeyed with the Israelites, where John the Baptist heralded in the New Testament of the Christian faith, and where Jesus Christ thrived. This spiritual area was known as the “Plains of Moab” in the Old Testament and “Peraea” in the New Testament. What happened to the Jews and Christians of Jordan?
