Politics is politics. Nobody gives a toss about the other let’s be honest. It has always been like this. Strategic friendships, alliances, etc are all ephemeral until the next deck of cards. It always has been. Some years ago, the Turks had only good things to say about Israel. Now they don’t. Maybe one day the pendulum will swing the other way again. The same goes with national governments in their relative complex web of relations. The only sure thing is that every nation has to be awake to the opportunities and challenges and to always operate within its maximum productivity frontier just to stand a chance to make it to the next round and hope it’s dealt with a better set of cards. No guarantees and forever doesn’t exist. The stronger survive and those napping at the wheel submerge into insignificance and even disintegrate entirely. Welcome to plant Earth.
