UN News- 2 November 2024: “In his 2024 message for the Day, UN Secretary-General António Guterres pointed out that Gaza has seen the highest number of killings of journalists and media workers in any war in decades, and called on governments to take urgent steps to protect journalists, investigate crimes against them, and prosecute perpetrators.”
Israel warned the journalist community more than once not to imbed themselves in certain areas of this conflict because they will be voluntarily putting themselves in harms way. If Israel had to worry about all the human shields and journalists, there is no way they could fight back against Hamas.
So we have to analyze exactly what exactly Guterres meant by “calling on governments ago take urgent steps to protect journalists” earlier today.
