The IDF already had to confirm that it killed what? twelve hostages, including three who were calling out in Hebrew and waving a white flag as they were shot. The IDF admitted they were bombing the area where the hostages were found.
Whether they were in combat with Hamas or simply bombing in anticipation of Hamas being in tunnels in the area, no one knows. All the IDF said is that the one hostage they recently saved was located close to the six who died.
The bombs the IDF drops are designed to penetrate tunnels up to 50 metres underground. One hostage the IDF found reported that the building she was in was bombed and collapsing around her as she was removed. She had cuts all over her body because of it.
The IDF has been rampaging through Gaza like a bunch of hooligans with over 100 hostages present there. That insane rampage has probably already killed most of the hostages. Why would the IDF blow up tunnels with hostages in them to rescue hostages? Why would it blow up buildings with hostages in them to rescue hostages? Why would it shoot hostages to rescue hostages?
Whatever the case may be, the IDF doesn’t want to take responsibility for having killed hostages. Especially hostages that could have been home in November 2023 if the government of Israel was really concerned about them and had proceeded with the hostage exchange. But it didn’t want to return any of the deceased to their families as a first next step and so it had the IDF start blowing up Gaza again.
