Orban doesn’t do it to protect Netanyahu. He does it because he opposes international institutions because he sees them as a threat to Hungarian sovereignty and identity.
What racist Christian mystic Orban misses, like most of the far right, is that it’s not actually international institutions that are the problem. It’s the definitions of human rights that are the problem and the masses of hypocrites that support them.. but a-la-carte. Orban is a prime example of this. Orban is all for keeping Hungary Hungarian but when it comes to keeping out or deporting Hungarian from other people’s homelands… well then it’s against ‘human rights”! Rather than edit human rights definitions to match what nations are willing to actually commit to to be morally consistent what most nations do is take a what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is ours attitude to them. Do as I say not as I do.. Good luck with that plan.
