Re: I fear for the survival of Lebanon

There’s a reason this is an opinion piece.

Does the author not remember the 1980s civil war? It was the Phalange and the Lebanese forces, with the help of the Zionists, that committed untold massacres against the Palestinians. They were the ones who were more than happy to be Zionist goons that caused the internal divisions. Without Hezbollah Lebanon would still be occupied today. The theft of deposits and disintegration of institutions happened as a result of the Zionist occupation…

Everyone knows the issue with Lebanon is the legacy of French imperialism that created a government that empowers the minority Christians over the others. It’s such a ridiculous government in which one religion is president, one religion is prime minister, etc. How could any government function this way when it’s inherently divided.

End the legacy of French imperialism, purge Zionist influences from your country and create a government that’s fair and indifferent to religious affiliations and you’ll have a renaissance in Lebanon. Hezbollah is not the enemy. Hezbollah is the one trying to purge the Zionists.
